TO

Make provision for the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the Common
Fisheries Policy.

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Establishment of a Commission to facilitate the United Kingdom’s
withdrawal from the Common Fisheries Policy

(1) The Secretary of State must establish a Commission to report to Parliament
within six months of this bill coming into force the steps necessary to effect the
5United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the Common Fisheries Policy.

(2) The Commission will also establish and report to Parliament the steps
necessary to restore the United Kingdom’s territorial fishing waters.

2 Financial provisions

There is to be paid out of money by Parliament any expenditure incurred in
10consequence of this Act by a Minister of the Crown, government department or other
public authority.

3 Short title, commencement and extent

(1) This Act may be cited as the Common Fisheries Policy (Withdrawal) Act 2011.

(2) This Act comes into force on the day on which it is passed.

(3) 15This Act extends to the whole of the United Kingdom.
