LORDS DISAGREEMENT AND REASON

 

The Lords disagree to Commons Amendment No. 47 for the following Reason—

47A

Because it is not desirable for the Youth Justice Board for England and Wales to be subject

 

to the provisions of the Bill.

LORDS DISAGREEMENT AND AMENDMENTS IN LIEU

 

The Lords disagree to Commons Amendment No. 53 but do propose the following

 

Amendments in lieu—

After Clause 26

Insert the following new Clause—

 

“Chief Coroner

 

(1)    

Section 40 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (appeals to the Chief

 

Coroner) is repealed.

(2)    

The following provisions of that Act (which relate to appeals under section

 

40 of that Act) are also repealed—

 

section 36(4)(b);

 

section 42(2)(b);

 

in section 42(2)(c) the words “and to exercise rights of appeal”;

 

section 45(1)(b) and (c) and (2)(j);

 

paragraph 4 of Schedule 10.”

Page 17, line 19, at end insert—

 

“( )    

The repeals in section (Chief Coroner) have the same extent as the

 

enactments to which they relate.”

In the Title

53C

Line 3, after “bodies;” insert “to repeal provisions of the Coroners and Justice Act
