Clause  2,  page  2,  line  14,  at end insert—

 

‘(c)    

in the exercise of its functions under this section the insurer should have

 

regard to the principle that a burden or restriction which is imposed on a

 

consumer through any additional requests to confirm or amend

 

particulars should be proportionate to the benefits, considered in general

 

terms, which are expected to result from the imposition of that burden or

 

restriction.’.

Review of availability and cost of consumer insurance

To move the following Clause:—

 

‘The Treasury shall, within one year of commencement of this Act, publish a

 

review of the impact of the Act on the availability and cost of consumer insurance

 

and shall also include in that review a general assessment of the market for:

(a)    

motor insurance for young drivers, and

 

(b)    

flood risk insurance for households in areas of higher flood risk
