Require the British Broadcasting Corporation to publish all invoices for
amounts in excess of £500 each quarter; to allow unrestricted access to the
Corporation’s accounts by the National Audit Office; and for connected
Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
Notwithstanding anything in any enactment or charter the BBC must put in
place arrangements to publish all invoices which it has paid of a value of over
£500 on a quarterly basis.
The National Audit Office shall have access to the financial transactions and
papers of the BBC to the same extent as to government departments, and may
make reports to Parliament under the National Audit Act 1983 in the same way
as it does for government departments.
This Act may be cited as the BBC (Audit Arrangements and Publication of
Invoices) Act 2013.
This Act shall come into force at the end of the period of two months beginning
with the day on which this Act was passed.
