The Bill gives effect to the recommendations of the Law Commission and the Scottish
Law Commission in their Nineteenth Report on Statute Law Repeals published in
April 2012 : Law Com No 333, Scot Law Com No 227.

EUROPEAN CONVENTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS

Mrs Helen Grant has made the following statement under section 19(1)(a) of the
Human Rights Act 1998:

In my view the provisions of the Statute Law (Repeals) Bill [HL] are compatible with
the Convention rights.
