Make provision for the cessation of subsidies for the development of wind
Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
(1) No payment shall be made by any government department or agency-
in excess of the prevailing wholesale price of electricity in respect of
electricity generated by onshore wind farms; or
otherwise for the purpose of subsidising the construction, development
or operation of onshore wind farms for the purpose of generating
Subsection (1) shall not apply to payments made or due to be made in respect
of onshore wind farms already operational prior to this Act coming into force.
(1) This Act applies to England and Wales only.
(2) This Act comes into force two months after the day on which it is passed.
