TO
Require the Secretary of State to make Regulations under Section 78 of the
Equality Act 2010 to require employers of more than 250 employees to publish
information relating to the pay of employees for the purpose of showing
whether there are differences in the pay of male and female employees; and
for connected purposes.
Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Publication regulations
(1)
The Secretary of State shall, as soon as possible, and no later than 12 months
from the coming into force of this Act, make regulations under section 78 of the
Equality Act 2010 for the purpose of requiring companies to publish
5information showing whether there are differences in the pay of male and
female employees.
(2)
The Secretary of State may consult such persons as the Secretary of State thinks
appropriate on the details of such regulations prior to publication.
2 Short title and commencement
(1) 10This Act may be cited as the Equal Pay (Transparency) Act 2015.
(2) This Act comes into force on the date of Royal Assent.
