To move the following Amendment to the Bill in lieu of the Lords Amendment No.5:—

Page  2,  line  3,  at end insert the following new Clause—

 

         

“European elections

 

    

No extension of the period under Article 50(3) of the Treaty on European

 

Union may be agreed by the Prime Minister if as a result the United

 

Kingdom would be required to prepare for or to hold elections to the

 

European Parliament.”
