TO

Make further provision about discrimination against people on the grounds of
their mental health.

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Amendment to the Mental Health Act 1983

Section 141 of the Mental Health Act 1983 is repealed.

2 Amendments to the Juries Act 1974

(1) Schedule 1 to the Juries Act 1974 is amended as follows.

(2) 5For paragraphs 1 and 2 substitute—

1 A person for the time being liable to be detained under the Mental
Health Act 1983..

3 Amendments to the Companies (Model Articles) Regulations 2008

In the Companies (Model Articles) Regulations 2008 (S.I. 2008/3229S.I. 2008/3229)—

(a) 10paragraph 18(e) of Schedule 1 is revoked;

(b) paragraph 18(e) of Schedule 2 is revoked; and

(c) paragraph 22(e) of Schedule 3 is revoked.

4 Amendment to the School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations
2007

15In Schedule 6 to the School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations
2007 (S.I. 2007/957S.I. 2007/957), paragraph 4 is revoked.

5 Short title, extent and commencement

(1) This Act may be cited as the Mental Health (Amendment) Act 2011.

(2) The provisions of this Act have the same extent as the enactments which they
amend.

(3) This Act shall come into force on the day on which it is passed.
