(11) The appraisals should be quadrennial in respect of the unfunded schemes, and triennial in respect of the funded local government schemes, following publication of the schemes’ valuation reports, and should include—

(a) a forecast for the annual cashflow shortfall between contributions and pensions in payment, for at least the next five years;

(b) a comparison between the Independent Public Service Pensions Commission’s projection for benefit payments as a percentage of GDP (Chart 1.B in its Final Report) and the actual outcome.”

“Local Government Pension Scheme

The Secretary of State for the Department of Communities and Local Government, as trustee for the Local Government Pension Scheme (“LGPS”), should have no obligation to provide financial support to any individual local funds pertaining to the LGPS.”
