Amend the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive)
Regulations 2003.
Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Unsolicited calls for direct marketing purposes
(1)
Regulation 21 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive)
Regulations 2003 (unsolicited calls for direct marketing purposes) is amended
as follows.
(2) 5In paragraph (1) for “neither” substitute “only”.
(3) Paragraph (1)(a) is repealed.
(4) Paragraph (3) is repealed.
(5) In paragraph (4) after “be” insert “not”.
2 Register to be kept for the purposes of Regulation 21

10Regulation 26 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive)
Regulations 2003 (register to be kept for the purposes of regulation 21) is
amended as follows.
(2) In paragraph (1) leave out “not”.
3 Short title, extent and commencement
(1) 15This Act may be cited as the Unsolicited Telephone Communications Act 2013.
(2) This Act comes into force on the day on which it is passed.
(3) This Act extends to the United Kingdom.
