Insert the following new Clause—

“Annual report to Parliament on Army’s fighting power

(1)     The Secretary of State shall lay before Parliament on an annual basis a
detailed report on the Army’s fighting power and shall include an
assessment of progress made and any setbacks incurred in implementation
of the Army 2020 plan.

(2)     The first of such reports shall be laid before Parliament in January 2015, no
later than 31 January 2015.”

Insert the following new Clause—

“Size of the Army Reserve

The size of the Army Reserve shall be reduced to a maximum of 27,000
trained personnel within an overall trained strength of the integrated
regular and reserve Army of 112,000.”

Page 33, line 2, at end insert—

“( )     An order under subsection (1) to commence Part 1 may not be made before
the Secretary of State has published a White Paper and an impact statement
on any proposed Government-owned contractor-operated options
compared with DE&S as modified by the Secretary of State commencing in
2014.”
