Make provision about the welfare of women undergoing fertility treatment.

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Welfare of women receiving fertility treatment

(1) Section 13 of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990 (conditions of
licences for treatment) is amended as follows.

(2) In subsection (2), after paragraph (e) insert—

(ea) 5the drugs and dosages administered to women undergoing
treatment in pursuance of the licence,

(eb) the live birth rate per embryo transferred in pursuance of the
licence,

(ec) any adverse health outcomes for women and children resulting
10from treatment in pursuance of the licence, including data on
low birth weight and prematurity, and”.

(3) After subsection (3), insert—

(3A) The Authority must collect centrally, anonymise and publish annually
information provided under subsection (2)(ea), (eb) and (ec).”

(4) 15In subsection (5), after “welfare” insert “of the woman and”.

2 Extent, commencement and short title

(1) This Act extends to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

(2) This Act comes into force on the day on which it is passed.

(3) This Act may be cited as the Welfare of Women (Fertility Treatments) Act 2015.
