TITLE

All-Party Parliamentary Group on Landmines and Unexploded Weapons of Conflict

PURPOSE

To promote greater awareness of the problem of landmines and other unexploded weapons of conflict, in response to an ongoing problem around the world, particularly in those poor and developing countries who are struggling to recover from devastating periods of conflict. To draw attention to the humanitarian consequences of the manufacture and use of landmines and cluster munitions and to raise the profile of the humanitarian benefits of mine and other unexploded ordnance clearance, campaigning for appropriate policy change and acting as a focal point for debate and the exchange of ideas, views and information.
