TABLING OF QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER IN THE NEW SESSION
Shuffles will take place at 12.30 p.m. on Wednesday 3rd December, the day of the State Opening, for the oral Questions being answered on:
The shuffles for subsequent Question times will follow the normal pattern and details may be found on the Order of Questions, to be issued when the date of Prorogation is confirmed, which will be available from the Vote Office and via the Parliamentary Intranet at http://intranet.parliament.uk/bulletin-board.
All Questions fall at Prorogation. Members may send notices of Questions relating to the new Session to the Table Office by post or through the e-tabling system once the House has prorogued. These notices will be treated as having been received on the first day of the new Session.
Members may table notices of Questions in person in the Table Office from its opening time in the new Session of 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday 3rd December.
QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER
Questions for written answer on a named day may not be tabled on or after Tuesday 25th November. Any such Questions which have been tabled on earlier dates for answer on Thursday 27th November will become ineffective if Prorogation takes place on Wednesday 26th November.
Questions for ordinary written answer tabled on Tuesday 25th November will also become ineffective if Prorogation takes place on Wednesday 26th November. Such Questions may not be tabled on or after Wednesday 26th November.
The earliest date in the new Session for which a Question may be set down for named day written answer is Monday 8th December.
NEW MOTIONS AND ADDED NAMES
The last day in the Session on which effective notices of new Motions and added names can be submitted by Members is the day before Prorogation takes place. No new Motions may therefore be tabled on the day of Prorogation nor may any names be added to existing Motions on that day.
All Motions fall at Prorogation.
New Motions, and added names thereto, may be submitted to the Table Office from its opening time in the new Session of 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday 3rd December.
