1City of London (Ward Elections) Bill,—The Order of the day being read, for further consideration of the City of London (Ward Elections) Bill, as amended by the Chairman of Ways and Means;
 
        Ordered, That the Bill be further considered on Wednesday 24th May.
2First Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,—Mr Edward O'Hara reported from the First Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Greater London Authority (Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2000.
 
        Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee to lie upon the Table.
3Newspaper and Magazine Recycling Bill,—The Order for reading the Newspaper and Magazine Recycling Bill a second time on Friday 9th June was read and discharged.
 
        Bill withdrawn.
4Armed Forces (Minimum Age of Recruitment),—A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That leave be given to bring in a Bill to prohibit the recruitment of persons under the age of eighteen into the regular forces, the regular air forces and the Royal Navy; to prohibit the calling up of members of the reserve forces who are under eighteen years of age; and for connected purposes—(Mr Paul Stinchcombe);
 
        And the Motion being opposed, after a brief explanatory statement from the Member who made the Motion and from a Member who opposed it, the Speaker put the Question pursuant to Standing Order No. 23 (Motions for leave to bring in bills and nomination of select committees at commencement of public business).
 
        The House divided.

6Royal Parks (Trading) Bill,—The House, according to Order, proceeded to consider the Royal Parks (Trading) Bill, not amended in the Standing Committee.
 
        Amendment (No. 17) proposed to the Bill, in page 1, line 13, to leave out the word '"level', and to insert the words '"for the first offence level 2 on the standard scale, and for any subsequent offence level'.—(Mr Eric Forth.)
 
        Question proposed, That the Amendment be made:—Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
 
        Another Amendment (No. 18) proposed to the Bill, in page 1, line 16, after the word 'the', to insert the word 'knowledge'.—(Mr Eric Forth.)
