1    Report of the Hammond Inquiry,-Ordered, That there shall be laid before this House a Return of the Report of the Review by Sir Anthony Hammond KCB of the circumstances surrounding an application for naturalisation by Mr S. P. Hinduja in 1998.-(Mr Ian Pearson.)

2    Message from the Lords,-A Message was brought from the Lords, as follows:

    Special Educational Needs and Disability Bill [Lords],-The Lords have passed a Bill to amend Part 4 of the Education Act 1996; to make further provision against discrimination, on grounds of disability, in schools and other educational establishments; and for connected purposes; to which the Lords desire the concurrence of this House.

    Parliamentary Referendum Bill [Lords],-The Lords have passed a Bill to establish the entitlement of each House of Parliament to resolve that a referendum be held on matters substantially affecting the constitution; to make provision as to the conduct of such referendums; and for connected purposes; to which the Lords desire the concurrence of this House.

3    Special Educational Needs and Disability Bill [Lords],-The Special Educational Needs and Disability Bill [Lords] was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time to-morrow and to be printed [Bill 55].

    Ordered, That the Explanatory Notes relating to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Bill [Lords] be printed [Bill 55-EN].

4     Adjournment (Welsh Affairs),-A Motion was made, and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn-(Mr Don Touhig);

    And it being Ten o'clock, the Motion for the adjournment of the House lapsed, without Question put.

5    Language of Parliamentary Proceedings,-Resolved, That-

    (1) this House approves the First Report from the Procedure Committee, Session 2000-01 (House of Commons Paper No. 47); and

    (2) the Resolution of 5th June 1996 on the Language of Parliamentary Proceedings be amended accordingly by inserting, after the word 'Wales,', the words 'and at Westminster in respect of Select Committees'.-(Mr Don Touhig.)

6    Education and Employment,-Ordered, That Mr Ian Pearson be discharged from the Education and Employment Committee and Mr Kerry Pollard be added to the Committee.-(Mr Keith Bradley, on behalf of the Committee of Selection.)

7    Public Administration,-Ordered, That Mr John McFall be discharged from the Select Committee on Public Administration and Mr David Lammy be added to the Committee.-(Mr Keith Bradley.)

8    Adjournment,-Resolved, That this House do now adjourn.-(Mr Don Touhig.)
