PRAYERS.

1    City of London (Ward Elections) Bill,-The Order of the day being read, for further consideration of the City of London (Ward Elections) Bill, as amended by the Chairman of Ways and Means;

    Ordered, That the Bill be further considered on Wednesday 2nd May at Seven o'clock.

2    First Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,-Mr Jim Cummings reported from the First Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Asian Development Bank (Seventh Replenishment of the Asian Development Fund) Order 2001.

    Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee to lie upon the Table.

3    Street Works Bill,-The Order for reading of the Street Works Bill a second time to-morrow was read and discharged.

    Bill to be read a second time on Friday 11th May.

4    Regulation of Debt Management and Credit Repair Services Bill,-The Order for reading the Regulation of Debt Management and Credit Repair Services Bill a second time to-morrow was read and discharged.

    Bill to be read a second time on Friday 11th May.

5    Special Educational Needs and Disability Bill [Lords],- The House, according to Order, proceeded to consider the Special Educational Needs and Disability Bill [Lords], as amended in the Standing Committee.

    A Clause (Provision of mobility and independence education)-(Mr Win Griffiths)-brought up, and read the first time.

    Question proposed, That the Clause be read a second time:-Clause, by leave, withdrawn.

    Another Clause (Needs of the Individual Child)-(Mrs Theresa May)-brought up, and read the first time.

    Question put, That the Clause be read a second time.

    The House divided.

      Tellers for the Ayes, Mr Peter Atkinson, Mr John Randall, 102.

      Tellers for the Noes, Mr Clive Betts, Mrs Anne McGuire, 236.

    So the Question was negatived.

    Another Clause (Inspection of special needs provision)-(Mr Tim Boswell)-brought up, and read the first time.

    Question proposed, That the Clause be read a second time:-Clause, by leave, withdrawn.

    Another Clause (Specification of provision)-(Mr John Hayes)-brought up, and read the first time.

    Question proposed, That the Clause be read a second time;

    And it being Six o'clock, the Deputy Speaker put the Question necessary to bring proceedings on consideration to a conclusion, pursuant to Order [20th March].

    Question, That the Clause be read a second time, put and negatived.

    The Bill was read the third time, and passed, with an Amendment.

6    Adjournment,-A Motion was made, and the Question proposed, That this House do now adjourn-(Mr Ian Pearson);

    And it being Seven o'clock, the Motion for the adjournment of the House lapsed, without Question put.

7    Adjournment,-Resolved, That this House do now adjourn.-(Mr Mike Hall.)

    And accordingly the House, having continued to sit till twenty-seven minutes past Seven o'clock, adjourned till to-morrow.
