2    Crossrail Bill,—Mr Secretary Darling, supported by the Prime Minister, Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, Secretary Margaret Beckett, Mr Secretary Hain, Secretary Alan Johnson, Secretary Tessa Jowell and Derek Twigg, presented a Bill to make provision for a railway transport system running from Maidenhead, in the County of Berkshire, and Heathrow Airport, in the London Borough of Hillingdon, through central London to Shenfield, in the County of Essex, and Abbey Wood, in the London Borough of Greenwich; and for connected purposes: And the same was deemed to be read the first time, pursuant to the Standing Order of 7th April; and was ordered to be read a second time to-morrow and to be printed [Bill 1].

    Ordered, That the Explanatory Notes relating to the Crossrail Bill be printed [Bill 1-EN].

3    Consumer Credit Bill,—Mr Secretary Johnson, supported by the Prime Minister, Mr Secretary Prescott, Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr Secretary Blunkett, Mr Secretary Darling, Mr Secretary Hain, Mr Gerry Sutcliffe and Bridget Prentice, presented a Bill to amend the Consumer Credit Act 1974; to extend the ombudsman scheme under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 to cover licensees under the Consumer Credit Act 1974; and for connected purposes: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time to-morrow and to be printed [Bill 2].

    Ordered, That the Explanatory Notes relating to the Consumer Credit Bill be printed [Bill 2-EN].

4    Queen's Speech (Motion for an Address),—The Order of the day being read, for resuming the adjourned Debate on the Question proposed yesterday, That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, as follows:

    Most Gracious Sovereign,

    We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Parliament assembled, beg leave to offer our humble thanks to Your Majesty for the Gracious Speech which Your Majesty has addressed to both Houses of Parliament;

    And the Question being again proposed:—The House resumed the adjourned Debate.

    Ordered, That the Debate be now adjourned.—(Mr John Heppell.)
