1    Dunfermline and West Fife Writ,—Ordered, That the Speaker do issue his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the electing of a Member to serve in this present Parliament for the County Constituency of Dunfermline and West Fife, in the room of Rachel Squire, deceased.—(Hilary Armstrong.)

2    Second Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,—Mr Peter Atkinson reported from the Second Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Disability Discrimination (Northern Ireland) Order 2005.

Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee to lie upon the Table.

3    Message from the Lords,—A Message was brought from the Lords, as follows:

Commons Bill [Lords],—The Lords have passed a Bill to make provision about common land and town or village greens; to which the Lords desire the concurrence of this House.

4    Commons Bill [Lords],—The Commons Bill [Lords] was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time to-morrow and to be printed [Bill 115].

Ordered, That the Explanatory Notes relating to the Commons Bill [Lords] be printed [Bill 115-EN].

5    National Lottery Bill,—The House, according to Order, proceeded to consider the National Lottery Bill, as amended in the Standing Committee.

6    Energy Efficiency,—A Motion was made, and the Question being put forthwith, pursuant to Standing Order No. 119 (European Standing Committees), That this House takes note of European Union Document No. 10368/05, Green Paper on Energy Efficiency or 'Doing More with Less'; and supports the Government's objective of securing an ambitious, but realistic, Action Plan on Energy Efficiency in 2006—(Mr Tom Watson):—It was agreed to.

7    The Speaker's Absence,—Ordered, That the Speaker have leave of absence on Wednesday 1st March for the purpose of attending the opening of the new building of the National Assembly for Wales.—(Mr Tom Watson.)

8    Business of the House,—Ordered, That, at the sitting on Thursday 26th January, the Speaker shall put the Questions necessary to dispose of proceedings on the Motion in the name of Mr Edward Leigh relating to Public Accounts not later than three hours after their commencement; proceedings may continue after the moment of interruption; and Standing Order No. 41A (Deferred divisions) shall not apply.—(Mr Tom Watson.)

9    Public Petition,—A Public Petition from residents and businesses of Hartlepool and others for a direct rail link from Hartlepool to London was presented and read; and ordered to lie upon the Table and to be printed.

10    Public Petition,—A Public Petition from the Stop Aids Campaign for better global provision of medicines against AIDS, TB and malaria was presented; and ordered to lie upon the Table and to be printed.

11    Adjournment,—A Motion was made and the Question being proposed, That this House do now adjourn.—(Mr Tom Watson);

And it being Six o'clock, the Motion for the adjournment of the House lapsed, without Question put.
