3    Maidstone Borough Council Bill,—The Maidstone Borough Council Bill was read the third time, and passed.

4    Regulatory Reform,—Andrew Miller reported from the Regulatory Reform Committee the following Resolution:

    That the proposal for the Regulatory Reform (Registered Designs) Order 2006, which was laid before the House on 13th March, should be amended before a draft Order is laid before the House.

5    Consolidation, &c., Bills,—Mr Stephen Dorrell reported from the Select Committee appointed to join with a Committee of the House of Lords on Consolidation, &c., Bills, to which the Wireless Telegraphy Bill [Lords], now pending in the House of Lords, was referred, That it had gone through the Bill; and had agreed to a Report which it had directed him to make to the House; and had directed him to report the Minutes of Evidence taken before it on 23rd May.

6    Second Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,—Mr Peter Atkinson reported from the Second Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Social Security (Income Support and Jobseeker's Allowance) Amendment Regulations 2006.

    Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee to lie upon the Table.

7    European Standing Committee,—Mr Greg Pope reported from a European Standing Committee the following Resolution:

    That the Committee takes note of European Union Document No. 14775/05 Commission Communication: The Commission's contribution to the period of reflection and beyond: Plan D for Democracy, Dialogue and Debate; and endorses the Government's support for the principles behind Plan D and the view that implementation to raise awareness of the EU in the UK should be in co-operation with partners at European, national, regional and local levels.

8    Message from the Lords,—A Message was brought from the Lords, as follows:

    National Lottery Bill,—The Lords agree to the National Lottery Bill with Amendments to which they desire the concurrence of this House.

    Draft Legal Services Bill (Joint Committee),—The Lords communicate that they have appointed a Committee of six Lords to join with the Committee appointed by the Commons to consider and report on any draft Legal Services Bill presented to both Houses by a Minister of the Crown, and to report on the draft Bill by 25th July 2006;

    They have ordered that the Committee have power to agree with the Committee appointed by the Commons in the appointment of a Chairman;

    That the Committee have leave to report from time to time, notwithstanding any adjournment of the House;

    That the Committee have power to appoint specialist advisers;

    That the Committee have power to adjourn from place to place within the United Kingdom;

    That the quorum of the Committee shall be two;

    That the reports of the Committee from time to time shall be printed, notwithstanding any adjournment of the House;

    And they propose that the Committee do meet with the Committee appointed by the Commons on Thursday 25th May at half-past ten o'clock.

9    Draft Legal Services Bill,—Ordered, That so much of the Lords Message of this day as relates to the Joint Committee on any draft Legal Services Bill be now considered.

    So much of the Lords Message considered accordingly.

    Ordered, That the Committee appointed by this House do meet the Lords Committee as proposed by their Lordships.

10    National Lottery Bill,—Lords Amendments to the National Lottery Bill to be considered tomorrow; and to be printed [Bill 189].

11    Lighter Evenings (Experiment) Bill [Lords],—The Lighter Evenings (Experiment) Bill [Lords] was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time on Friday 14th July and to be printed [Bill 188].

12    Corruption,—Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill to make provision about corruption: And that Hugh Bayley, Mr John Denham, Mike Gapes, Malcolm Bruce, Mr Chris Mullin, John Bercow, Ms Sally Keeble, Mr Gary Streeter, Tony Baldry, James Duddridge, Norman Lamb and Mr Tom Clarke do prepare and bring it in.

13    Corruption Bill,—Hugh Bayley accordingly presented a Bill to make provision about corruption: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time on Friday 20th October and to be printed [Bill 185].

14    Education and Inspections Bill (Programme) (No. 2),—Ordered, That the Order of 15th March 2006 (Education and Inspections Bill (Programme)) be varied as follows-

    1. Paragraphs 5 and 6 of the Order shall be omitted.

    2. Proceedings on consideration shall be taken on each of the days as shown in the following Table and in the order so shown.

    3. Each part of the proceedings shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion at the time specified in relation to it in the second column of the Table.

19    Public Petitions,—Public Petitions from—

    (1) Councillors and residents of the East Devon District Council area against government plans to end Post Office card accounts [two Petitions]; and

    (2) students of the University of Oxford against rising accommodation costs
