2Ninth Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation,—Mr Barry Jones reported from the Ninth Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation the draft Double Taxation Relief (Taxes on Income) (Kuwait) Order 1999.

3European Standing Committee A,—Mr Humfrey Malins reported from European Standing Committee A the following Resolution:
 
        That the Committee takes note of European Union Document No. 12791/98, a draft Council Directive on the incineration of waste, and of European Union Document No. 12756/97, a proposed amendment to Directive 94/67/EC on incineration of hazardous waste, and endorses the Government's approach to these documents.
 
        Report, together with Resolution, to lie upon the Table.
4House of Commons Disqualification (Amendment),—Ordered, That leave be given to bring in a Bill to allow persons ordained and ministers of any religious denomination to be Members of the House of Commons: And that Siobhain McDonagh, Mr Ben Bradshaw, Mr Tom Clarke, Mr Paul Goggins, Mr Simon Hughes, Mrs Joan Humble, Mr Edward Leigh, Mr Martin Linton, Mr Robert Maclennan, Mr Gordon Marsden, Bridget Prentice and Bob Russell do prepare and bring it in.
5House of Commons Disqualification (Amendment) Bill,—Siobhain McDonagh accordingly presented a Bill to allow persons ordained and ministers of any religious denomination to be Members of the House of Commons: And the same was read the first time; and ordered to be read a second time on Friday 23rd July and to be printed [Bill 120].
6Immigration and Asylum Bill [2nd allotted day],—The Order of the day being read, for resuming the adjourned Debate on the Question proposed yesterday, on consideration of the Immigration and Asylum Bill, as amended in the Special Standing Committee, That Clause (Removal of asylum claimants under standing arrangements with member States) be read a second time;
 
        And the Question being again proposed:—The House resumed the adjourned Debate.
