in statistical divisions in the Department of Employment headquarters, the Training Agency, the employment service and the Health and Safety Executive are as in the table. The permanent staff included within these numbers are close to the current complement and to that proposed for 1990-91. More casual administrative staff than are included in these numbers will be employed as necessary to process the 1989 census of employment and the 1990 earnings surveys. The table excludes the 35 staff previously in the Department and transferred to the new Central Statistical Office on 31 July 1989.
