M1 M62 Link

Mr. Hinchliffe : To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to announce the results of the public consultation process concerning proposals for an M1 M62 motorway link in west Yorkshire.

Mr. Kenneth Carlisle : The results of the public consultation will be announced after the analysis of the responses has been completed. This is likely to take several more months due to the complexity of the scheme and the large number of responses received.

M20 and A20

Sir Keith Speed : To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects the widening of the M20 in the Maidstone area and the new A20 road from Folkestone to be completed.

Mr. Kenneth Carlisle : The M20 junctions 5 to 8 widening and A20 Folkestone to Dover schemes are expected to be complete by late summer 1993.
