Mr. Dalyell: To ask the right hon. Member for Berwick-upon-Tweed, as representing the House of Commons Commission, if he will list (a) the cost of the Serjeant at Arms quality of service survey and (b) the payment to Janet Levin Associates for its services in connection with the survey. [2435]
Mr. Beith: The final cost of the survey is dependent on the amount of work which is considered necessary at each stage to complete it satisfactorily. I have asked the Serjeant at Arms to write to the hon. Member with details.
Mr. Cox: To ask the Prime Minister what issues concerning Cyprus were discussed by him during his recent meeting with the Prime Minister of Turkey; and if he will make a statement. [3171]
The Prime Minister: I discussed with Mrs. Ciller the prospects for a solution of the Cyprus problem. We agreed that the status quo was not acceptable. I urged Mrs. Ciller to bring positive Turkish influence to bear in moving towards a settlement.
Mr. Marshall: To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department when the Green Paper on legal aid to the seemingly wealthy was published; when the consultation period ended; and when a decision will be announced. [2001]
Mr. Evans: The Lord Chancellor published his consultation paper on legal aid for the apparently wealthy on 20 December 1994. The consultation period ended on 1 March 1995 and a press release listing the Lord Chancellor's proposals was issued on 26 April 1995. A

Mr. John D. Taylor: To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department how many justices of the peace there are per 1,000 persons in each of the district council areas in Northern Ireland. [1668]
Mr. Jonathan Evans: Justices of the peace are appointed to serve in county court divisions. Details of the number of justices of the peace per 1,000 persons in each division in Northern Ireland are as follows:
Mr. Llwyd: To ask the Attorney-General if he will list for (a) each court circuit in Wales, (b) for Wales as a whole and (c) for England for each of the last three years for which figures are available: (i) the number of cases submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service by the police for consideration of bringing proceedings, (ii) the number of prosecutions brought by the Crown Prosecution Service and (iii) the figures in (ii) expressed as a percentage of (i); and if he will make a statement. [1090]
The Attorney-General: The tables of figures show the number of cases received from the police and those dealt with by the Crown Prosecution Service during the last three years, for Wales and for England. The figures comprise proceedings in the magistrates courts, but do not include the specialised casework handled by the headquarters of the service. No figures are held for individual court circuits.
The percentage of cases discontinued, expressed as a proportion of those dealt with, was:
