Lord James Douglas-Hamilton: The subject of the questions relate to matters undertaken by the Scottish Prison Service. I have asked the chief executive, Mr. E. W. Frizzell, to arrange for a reply to be given.

European Union fishing vessels; and what were the species of fish included in these landings in (i) 1992, (ii) 1993 and (iii) 1994. [9413]
Mr. Raymond S. Robertson:
The table shows landings by UK vessels from the Norwegian exclusive economic zone by species for 1992, 1993 and 1994. Information from other member states in the same form is not available.
All security category A and B prisoners, including women prisoners, who are required to be taken outside the prison are subject to security precautions including the use of handcuffs. However women prisoners would not be handcuffed whilst in labour, and staff would be expected, with the approval of the prison Governor, to have regard to individual circumstances in the supervision which would apply.
