Agricultural Payments

Dr. Strang: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many payments he expects to be made in Scotland in 1995-96 for set-aside of between (a) £0 and £5,000, (b) £5,001 and £10,000, (c) £10,001 and £15,000, (d) £15,001 and £20,000, (e) £20,001 and £25,000,

(f) £25,001 and £50,000, (g) £50,001 and £75,000, (h) £75,001 and £100,000, (i) £100,001 and £150,000, (j) £150,001 and £200,000 and (k) over £200,001. [15335]

Mr. Raymond S. Robertson: The distribution by size of payments against set-aside claims under the 1995 arable area payments scheme is not yet available as not all payments have been made in those cases where non-food crops have been grown on set-aside land. However, my noble Friend the Minister will write to the hon. Member when the figures requested are available.

Mr. Robertson: The distribution by size of total payments against claims under the 1995 arable area payments scheme is not yet available as the final oilseeds payments and some payments on non-food set-aside for the year have not yet been made. However, my noble Friend the Minister will write to the hon. Member when the figures are available.

School Class Sizes

Mr. Donohoe: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many classes had (a) more than 30 pupils and (b) more than 35 pupils; what was the total number of classes within each authority; and what percentages (a) and (b) represented of the total number of classes for each education authority in Scotland and for each education division within Strathclyde for each academic year since 1979. Mr. Raymond S. Robertson: As the information requested is lengthy I shall arrange for copies of it to be placed in the Library of the House.

Court Service

Mr. McFall: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many High Court prosecutions have been conducted by the Lord Advocate and the Solicitor-General for Scotland in each of the last five years. [15721]

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton: There is no central record of the number of occasions on which Lords Advocate or Solicitors General for Scotland have represented the Crown in criminal proceedings. However, both the present office holders and their predecessors have appeared for the Crown in High Court trials and criminal appeal hearings. They have done so on numerous occasions, when their parliamentary and other duties have permitted.

GP Fundholders

Mr. Galbraith: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Cardiff, West (Mr. Morgan) of 13 February 1996, Official Report, column 567, if he will list for each year and each health board the percentage of fundholding practices. [16044]
