Euro

Mr. Wilkinson: To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what expenditure he has authorised to date by the Royal Mint for preparations to produce coins and banknotes denominated in euros. [16090]

Statistics (Gender Breakdown)

Ms Jowell: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what steps the Department is taking to collect statistics broken down by gender where relevant. [17693]

Mrs. Gillan: Gender is a key characteristic of many of the statistics we collect in the Department.

Capital Spending

Dr. Lynne Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what has been the capital spending by each local education authority in each of the last five years for which figures are available; what have been the Government capital allocations in each of those years and in all subsequent years for which allocations have been made. [19263]

Mrs. Gillan: Table A gives capital spending by local education authorities for the years 1990-91 to 1994-95 inclusive.

Government capital allocations over the years 1990-91 to 1996-97 inclusive and are given in table B.
