It is not possible to quantify how much will be received by the county of Mid Glamorgan in 1996 since this is dependent on future approvals under the latest programme and sponsors submitting claims for grant to the Welsh Office on time.

[18625]
Mr. Hague [holding answer 4 March 1996]: The trust has provided monthly financial information to my Department since May 1993. My Department became concerned about the financial performance of the trust following a meeting on 24 June 1994. The financial information submitted by the trust in August reinforced these concerns. A letter was sent to the chief executive on 2 September 1994 expressing the Department's disquiet and asking for an assurance that the necessary action would be taken to meet statutory financial obligations.

The document "A Bright Future", published last year, focuses on these issues, and has been well received by teachers in Wales.
