The Secretary of State for Transport has asked me to reply to your recent question asking which network enhancement projects announced in the Highways Agency Business Plan 1995/96 were started by 31 March.
Of the network enhancement projects announced in the Highways Agency's 1995/96 Business Plan, 9 in the £1 million to £3 million category and 156 in the £50,000 to £1 million category were started by 31 March 1996. These projects are those ticked on the attached lists.
The Agency's 1996 Business Plan was amended to include 3 new network enhancement projects in the £50,000 to £1 million category. These were:--
