Consultants

Mr. Milburn: To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage if she will list the actions her Department has taken on each of the recommendations contained in the Cabinet Office report on the Government's use of external consultants. [10159]

In respect of the remaining 28, my Department has implemented four in full--recommendations numbers 3, 6, 9 and 20; the rest are to be implemented in the context of a new procurement strategy on which my Department is currently working.

projects which cover the whole of the UK. Of the eight capital projects supported specifically in Wales, the total grant aid to date is £92,824,028. Of the projects which cover more than one country, £11.2 million has been allocated to Wales, making a total capital projects allocation of £104,024,028. The commission has also offered grant to six millennium award schemes. These grants are allocated in response to applications. Four will cover the whole of the UK and one scheme for £365,134 is specifically targeted at Wales. Thus, the total grant allocation is £104,389,162. Working on the basis that the population of Wales is 2,906,500, grant aid per head is £35.92.
