Mr. Kirkwood: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the extra resources which will be granted to Hawick as a result of inclusion in the first round of Scottish Enterprise's small town initiative. [21547]
Mr. Kynoch: The expenditure on projects and programmes to benefit Hawick in the context of the small towns initiative have yet to be finalised. At this stage, it is not possible to determine the extent of any additional resources which may be required.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the budget made available to Scottish Borders Enterprise for the past five years for which figures are available. [21543]

Mr. Kynoch:
The allocation of budgets to its local enterprise companies is an operational matter for Scottish Enterprise. I have asked the chairman to write to the hon. Member.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the total amount of money paid from UK and EU funds to farm enterprises in Roxburgh and Berwickshire and in Tweeddale, Ettrick and Lauderdale for the last five years for which figures are available. [21537]

Mr. Gallie: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects to receive the local government staff commission (Scotland) report; and if he will make a statement. [21606]
Mr. Kynoch: The staff commissioners submitted their report to my right hon. Friend on 10 March 1997. I am placing copies in the House Library today.
Mr. Gallie: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement about the performance of the Scottish Agricultural Science Agency against its targets for 1996-97; and if he will make a statement on the targets for 1997-98. [21605]
Mr. Michael Forsyth: The agency is on course to meet the key performance targets for 1996-97 which I set out in my written answer of 3 April 1996, column 276).
For 1997-98 I have set the agency the following key performance targets:
Fulfilment of the Service Level Agreement with SOAEFD within the running costs allocated to SASA for 1997-98;
Continuation of the programme of consultation with all customers on the quality of the work done by the Agency;
Completion of 93 per cent. of all scientific tests and analyses within the timescales set by customers;
Improvement in the unit cost of the scientific work of the Agency (cost per direct scientist hour);
Publication of a comprehensive review of the scientific work of the Agency 1992-97.
Dr. Wright: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland which of the executive non-departmental public bodies sponsored by his Department publish (a) annual reports, (b) annual accounts, (c) the minutes of meetings, (d) the agendas of meetings and (e) a register of members' interests; and if this is in each case (i) under a statutory requirement or (ii) voluntary. The information required is as follows: (a) Those executive NDPBs which are covered by the Companies Acts are required to publish annual reports and some other bodies are also required by the statute creating them to publish annual reports. These bodies are:

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency is currently preparing a list of members' interests which will be available to the public on request.
