Criminal Procedure (Intermediate Diets) (Scotland) Bill
This Bill amends the law relating to intermediate diets in summary criminal trials in Scotland so as expressly to permit the holding of such diets at any time prior to the commencement of the actual trial.
The amendment made by the Bill is retrospective so as to regularise the practice of the courts in Scotland.
Clause 1 makes the substantive amendments to the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995, and consequential amendment to the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1975, which the 1995 Act consolidated.
Clause 2 specifies the extent and short title of the Bill.
