SCHEDULE 14
 
  TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS AND SAVINGS
 
Human rights
     1. In relation to any time before the Human Rights Act 1998 is fully in force, sections 6(2)(d), 19(1) and 57 and Schedule 11 shall have effect as if that Act were so in force.
 
 
First Minister and deputy First Minister
     2. Any election of the First Minister and the deputy First Minister held before the appointed day shall on and after that day have effect as if it had been held under section 14.
 
 
Northern Ireland Ministers
     3. Any nomination of a person to hold a Ministerial office made before the appointed day shall on and after that day have effect as if it had been made under section 15.
 
 
Agency arrangements
     4. Any arrangements made under section 11 of the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973 before the appointed day shall on and after that day have effect as if they had been made under section 21.
 
 
Elections of members
     5. Any order made under section 2(5) of the Northern Ireland (Elections) Act 1998 before the appointed day shall on and after that day have effect, with any necessary modifications, as if it had been made under section 26(4).
 
 
Vacancies
     6. Any order made under section 3 of the Northern Ireland (Elections) Act 1998 before the appointed day shall on and after that day have effect, with any necessary modifications, as if it had been made under section 27.
 
 
Disqualification
     7. A person elected on 25th June 1998 shall not be disqualified from membership of the Assembly by virtue of section 28 if he was not disqualified from such membership under section 4 of the Northern Ireland (Elections) Act 1998.
 
 
Presiding Officer and deputy
     8. Any person appointed by the Secretary of State under paragraph 3 of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland (Elections) Act 1998 before the appointed day shall on and after that day hold office as Presiding Officer or, as the case may be, deputy Presiding Officer as if he had been elected by the Assembly under section 31.
 
 
Standing orders
     9. Any standing orders made by the Secretary of State under paragraph 10 to the Schedule to the Northern Ireland (Elections) Act 1998 before the appointed day shall on and after that day have effect as if they had been made by the Assembly under section 33.
 
 
Discrimination
     10. The repeals effected by this Act shall not affect the operation of sections 17 and 18 of the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973 (read with section 23 of that Act) in relation to-
 
 
    (a) Acts of the Parliament of Northern Ireland;
 
    (b) Measures of the Northern Ireland Assembly established under section 1 of the Northern Ireland Assembly Act 1973;
 
    (c) Orders in Council under Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974; and
 
    (d) relevant subordinate instruments (within the meaning of section 17 of the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973) made before the appointed day.
