BY TYPE
EG FLOOD
WARNING SYSTEMS,
FLOOD DEFENCES,
COAST PROTECTION
WORKS ETC.
A breakdown of the schemes approved by MAFF
for grant aid in 1997-98 is as follows:

FLOOD DEFENCE
WORKS SPECIFYING
THE GEOGRAPHICAL
COVERAGE OF
THE SURVEY
AND THE
YEAR IN
WHICH IT
WAS UNDERTAKEN.
Responsibility for such assessments rests with the local
operating authorities (Environment Agency, local authorities and
Internal Drainage Boards) rather than the Ministry. The Ministry
has therefore not commissioned such a survey.
(C) A BACK

DEFENCE PROJECTS
FUNDED BY
MAFF FOR PREDOMINANTLY
(A) AGRICULTURAL
AND (B)
RESIDENTIAL PURPOSES
OVER THE
LAST FIFTEEN
YEARS.
Reasonably complete computerised data is available from 1990/91
onwards, and information on earlier years could only be produced
at disproportionate cost. A breakdown of the number of schemes
approved by MAFF for grant aid between those with primarily (a)
agricultural and (b) urban benefits is as follows:
|
| 1990/91 | 1991/92
| 1992/93 | 1993/94

REFLECT THEIR
PREDOMINANT LAND
USE EG
AGRICULTURAL, RESIDENTIAL,
INDUSTRIAL ETC.
As for (c) above the breakdown of ongoing MAFF-funded schemes
(ie those approved but for which audited final accounts have yet
to be received) is provided on the basis of those with primarily
(a) agricultural and (b) urban benefits. A more detailed breakdown
by land use is not readily available.
