PROPOSALS WHICH MAY COME FORWARD IN THE FORM OF DRAFT ORDERS BETWEEN MARCH AND THE SUMMER RECESS

Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976: remove a number of minor restrictions on licensed hire vehicles (DETR).

Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992: remove the requirement that trade union subscriptions can only be deducted from pay where the employee has made a written authorisation during the past three years (DTI).

Methylated Spirits (sale by retail) Scotland Act 1937: reducing the costs to business of complying with its conditions (Scottish Office).

PROPOSALS ON WHICH CONSULTATION MAY SOON START

Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953: remove the burden of producing two statutory declarations when correcting errors in registers of births and deaths (ONS).

Sunday Observance Act 1870: remove the ban on commercially organised dancing on Sundays (Home Office).

Charities Proposals: There are a number of proposals to deregulate Charities legislation which may be brought forward in several packages.
