NEW DELHI

Monday 23 February

Mr Wayne Leiminger, US Consul-General in charge of the entry clearance operation and Mr Art Mills, Immigration Section, US Embassy.

Mr Bob Brack, Acting Head of Immigration Section and Airline Liaison Officer, Canadian High Commission.

Tuesday 24 February

Shri H S Puri, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India.

Shri R V Pillai, Chairman of the Indian Human Rights Commission.

In addition, on Monday 23 February, the group toured the Immigration Section from street to counter and, on both days, had discussions with Immigration Section staff, UK-based and locally-engaged and those applying for visas. Members attended a range of interviews individually.

ISLAMABAD

Wednesday 25 February

Ms Clare Newton, British Council Acting Director, Pakistan.

In addition, on Wednesday 25 February, the group toured the Immigration Section from street to counter and, on both Wednesday 25 February and Thursday 26 February, had discussions with Immigration Section staff, UK-based and locally-engaged and those applying for visas. Members attended a range of interviews individually. The group also had a briefing from the Nurse on welfare matters.
