  The Committee deliberated.

  Mr F Martin, Second Treasury Officer of Accounts, was further examined.

  The Comptroller and Auditor General's report on Health and Safety in NHS Acute Hospital Trusts in England (HC 82) was considered.

  Mr A Langlands, Chief Executive, NHS Management Executive, was examined.

  Postponed paragraph 5 read and agreed to.

  Resolved, That the Report be the Second Report of the Committee to the House.

  Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

  Ordered, That the provisions of Standing Order No. 134 (Select Committees (Reports)) be applied to the Report.
