  The Comptroller and Auditor General's memorandum on Property Services in English Occupied Royal Palaces: Responsibilities for Royal Household Remuneration and Provision of Accommodation (PAC 102) was considered.

  Mr G Hayden Phillips, CB, Permanent Secretary, the Department for National Heritage; and Mr M C G Peat, Director of Finance and Property Services, Her Majesty's Household were examined.

  Paragraph 24 read, amended and agreed to.

  Paragraphs 25 to 82 read and agreed to.

  Resolved, That the Report, as amended, be the Ninth Report of the Committee to the House.

  Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House.

  Ordered, That the provisions of Standing Order No. 134 (Select Committees (Reports)) be applied to the Report.

  Two papers (PAC 175, 121) were ordered to be appended to the Minutes of Evidence.
