Select Committee on Public Accounts Sixty-Ninth Report

On progress in handling claims made for personal injury arising from events at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital

(xvii)  We recognise the effort that Kent and Canterbury Hospital is taking to manage the claims made by those women, and their families, involved in the failure of the screening service there. We are, however, concerned that settlements could take as long as three years and we urge the NHS Executive and the Trust to continue to explore ways of expediting settlements (paragraph 75).
