National Radiowave Propagation Committee (NRPC)

Terms of Reference:
The Committee provides a National forum for
the co-ordination of needs and study programmes in the field of
pre-competitive radio propagation research and closely related
matters. It advises the Radiocommunications Agency on the scope
and content of the National Radio Propagation Programme, including
its major element—the core programme of studies at the Rutherford
Appleton Laboratory. The Committee may establish Technical Working
Parties on defined topics where there is a number of related studies
being undertaken within the UK organisations. Membership is by
invitation from the Radiocommunications Agency and includes representatives
from major groups with significant interests in the study or application
of radio propagation.
Space Science Advisory Panel (SSAP)
Chairman:
Professor A Lawrence, University of Edinburgh.
Terms of Reference:
To advise the Director General of BNSC and the
Executive of PPARC on all national and international aspects of
space science policy, strategy and programme requirements, and
in particular, to advise on UK policy on the Science Programme
of the European Space Agency (ESA), including regular briefing
for the UK delegation to the ESA Science Programme Committee.
The Panel reports annually to the PPARC Astronomy Committee and
the DG, BNSC, on the current science programme and its future
directions.
