Letter from Mr Tim Smith, MP to the Parliamentary
Commissioner for Standards
I am writing further to my oral evidence of
Wednesday 12 February.
I have investigated the availability of my tax
returns. The relevant years are 1987/88 and 1988/89.
I am enclosing the income and expenditure account
of Rosenau Consultants for the year ended 9 April 1989.
Prior to that year, my accountant was a partner
in the firm of Moores and Rowland. He has written to the senior
partner asking for a copy of the accounts of the year ended 9
April 1988.
I have examined my diary for 1989. I can confirm
that it does contain a record of a meeting with Mr Al-Fayed on
Tuesday, 7 November.
