Assembly election if Assembly vote to remove Mayor from office
Mr Simon Hughes NC2 To move the following Clause:'(1) The Assembly may vote by a two-thirds majority to remove the Mayor from office. (2) Following a vote to remove the Mayor from office under subsection (1) above, an election shall be held for the office of Mayor and all Assembly members.'.
Consultation with business and voluntary organisations
Mr Simon Hughes NC6 To move the following Clause:'( ) Within one year of its first meeting, the Greater London Authority shall produce proposals for including business and voluntary organisations in the formal consultation processes of the Authority.'.

Mr John M. Taylor NC7 To move the following Clause:'.The Mayor will be deemed to have been disqualified from office with immediate effect, it, if within not less than twelve months of the date of his signing the declaration of acceptance of office, a minimum of one fifth of electors, or one million electors, whichever is the smaller, entitled to vote in Greater London, shall have put their names to a recall petition, the wording of which includes a demand that the Mayor should resign. Receipt of a valid petition by the Greater London returning officer, will result in the publication of notice of a new election for the Mayor, which will not preclude the candidature of the former incumbent, provided that he remains qualified to stand in that election.'.
London member vacancy: individual candidates
Mr Richard Ottaway NC8 To move the following Clause:'(1) This section applies where a vacancy arises in the office of a London member who was returned as an individual member. (2) Where there is only one vacancy to which this section applies, the vacancy shall remain unfilled until the next ordinary election. (3) Subject to subsection (5) below, if there should be two or more vacancies to which this section applies, the Greater London returning officer shall arrange a poll of all electors in Greater London, and the candidates obtaining the highest number of votes shall be returned until all vacancies have been filled. (4) Part III of Schedule 2 shall apply to the filling of vacancies under subsection (3) above. (5) If, within six months of the next ordinary election, vacancies arise which would, but for this subsection, cause a poll to be held, such poll shall not be held and the vacancies shall remain unfilled.'.
