Metropolitan Police Authority to report to Mayor and Assembly on recruitment of ethnic minority staff

To move the following Clause:—

    '(1) The Metropolitan Police Authority shall report annually to the Mayor and Assembly on its progress in meeting targets on the recruitment, progression and retention of uniformed and non-uniformed employees from all recognised ethnic groups in the metropolitan police force.

    (2) The targets under subsection (2) above shall be set annually by the Metropolitan Police Authority.'.

    'The Metropolitan Police Authority shall bring forward proposals on methods of encouraging the reporting of incidents and crimes, including racist incidents and crimes, after consulting the Mayor and Assembly, including—

      (a) the ability to report at locations other than police stations; and

      (b) the ability to report 24 hours a day.'.
