B I L L TO Authorise hospital managers to continue to hold, expend and dispose of the property of persons to whom section 94(1) of the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 1984 no longer applies. BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- | |||||||||
Property of former patients. | 1. In section 94 of the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 1984 (powers of hospital managers in relation to property of patients), after subsection (3) insert- | ||||||||

Citation, commencement and extent. | 2. - (1) This Act may be cited as the Mental Health (Amendment) (Scotland) Act 1999. | ||||||||
(2) This Act comes into force at the end of the period of two months beginning with the date on which it is passed. | |||||||||
(3) This Act extends only to Scotland. |
