BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- | |||||||||
| Electors in Gibraltar. | 1. - (1) The European Parliamentary Elections Act 1978 is amended as follows. | ||||||||
| (2) In section 1, renumber the existing provision "(1)" and at the end insert- | |||||||||

| (3) In section 3C, after subsection (3) insert- | |||||||||

| |||||||||
| Short title and commencement. | 2. - (1) This Act may be cited as the European Parliamentary Elections (Gibraltar) Act 1999. | ||||||||
| (2) This Act shall come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may by order made by statutory instrument appoint. | |||||||||
| (3) No order may be made under subsection (2) unless the Secretary of State is so requested by the appropriate representative authority of Gibraltar. | |||||||||
| (4) Nothing in this Act shall impose any charge on the people or on public funds, or vary the amount or incidence of or otherwise alter any such charge in any manner, or affect the assessment, levying, administration or application of any money raised by any such charge. | |||||||||
