This is the text of the Food Standards Bill, as presented to the House of Commons on 10th June 1999.

EUROPEAN CONVENTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has made the following statement under section 19(1)(a) of the Human Rights Act 1998:

In my view the provisions of the Food Standards Bill are compatible with the Convention rights.
