Require the Government to consult interested parties on whether to designate the coastal waters off Berwickshire as Scottish internal waters and to report to Parliament; and for connected purposes.

BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
 

Consultation and report to Parliament.     1. - (1) Not later than six months after the passing of this Act the Secretary of State shall consult any person who in his opinion has a relevant interest on whether the co-ordinates set out in Schedule 2 to the Scottish Adjacent Waters Boundaries Order 1999 are appropriate for determining the boundaries between waters which are to be treated as sea within British fishery limits adjacent to Scotland and those which are not.
 
      (2) Not later than nine months after the passing of this Act the Secretary of State shall lay before Parliament a report on the consultation undertaken under subsection (1) together with any proposals he may have for amending or replacing the Scottish Adjacent Waters Boundaries Order 1999.
 
Short title.     2. This Act may be cited as the Scottish Adjacent Waters Boundaries (Amendment) Act 1999.
