ANNEX 3

COMPETENCIES FOR WHICH THE MARINE ADMINISTRATION OF THE ISLE OF MAN IS

AUTHORISED TO CONDUCT SURVEYS


Passenger ShipsUndertake plan approval and surveys of non-delegated items using own surveyors. Where, appropriate complete a partial declaration
Mobile Offshore Drilling UnitsApprove plans and conduct surveys under MODU code
Certificates of Fitness in respect of Bulk Chemical and Gas carrying vessels Conduct plan approval and surveys of vessels, and provide Marine Administration with declaration of survey
Stability ApprovalIntact and Damage Stability as detailed in Annex 4
Carriage of Dangerous GoodsApprove plans and conduct survey, provide partial declaration to the Marine Administration

Note 1: Where the Marine Administration is not able to provide the resources for Initial or Renewal Surveys, the Marine Administration, in the first instance, will request the assistance of the MCA.
Note 2: If agreed by the Marine Administration, copies of this Annex will be attached to the Memoranda of other British Administrations. Providing competency exists, and with mutual agreement, surveyors of one British Category 1 Administration may undertake surveys on ships of other British Category 1 Administrations.
