THE GOVERNMENT'S RESPONSE TO THE SIXTH REPORT OF
THE EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT COMMITTEE AND
THE SEVENTH REPORT OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY COMMITTEE
OF SESSION 1998-99
1. The Education and Employment Committee's Sixth
Report and the Social Security Committee's Seventh Report of Session
1998-99, on the ONE Service Pilots, was agreed to by the Committees
on 20 July 1999 and published on 27 July 1999 as House of Commons
Paper No. 412.
2. We have now received a letter from Rt Hon Andrew
Smith, then Minister of State for Employment, Welfare to Work
and Equal Opportunities at the Department for Education and Employment,
and Ms Angela Eagle, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at
the Department of Social Security, enclosing the Government's
response to the Report, both of which are printed in the Appendix
to this Special Report.
